Sahaja Kelana: Social Service Activities for Older People in Timpag Village
Sahaja Foundation has successfully conducted the “Sahaja Kelana” social service activity in Timpag Village, Tabanan Regency. This activity was held on October 13, 2024, coinciding with the Ngusaba ceremony at Pura Dalem, the traditional temple of Timpag Village. During the event, villagers of all ages gathered to participate in ngayah as a form of devotion in the traditional ceremony. The Sahaja Foundation supported the event by providing free health check-ups for 52 older people participating in ngayah, in collaboration with the Public Health Center (Puskesmas), nursing students from the Institute of Technology and Health (ITEKES Bali), and community service program (KKN) students from the Institute of Business and Technology Indonesia (INSTIKI Bali).
In addition to health check-ups, the activity also offered consultations with doctors, the provision of medications when needed, and the distribution of milk to support the health of older people. For those unable to mobilize, home visits were conducted to ensure they could still access the services.
The event was carried out with the guidance and full support of the Head of Timpag Village and the local community, who actively participated in its implementation. The activity proceeded smoothly and joyfully, with older people expressing their gratitude and happiness for the care they received.
The Head of Timpag Village Expresses Appreciation for the Sahaja Kelana Social Service:
“On behalf of all the residents of Timpag Village, I, as the Village Head, extend my deepest gratitude to the Sahaja Foundation for its participation and dedication in organizing this social activity for older people in our village. The presence of free health services brought happiness and a sense of being valued to the older residents, who felt cared for by the surrounding community. We hope this collaboration will continue well into the future, bringing long-term benefits to the well-being of Timpag Village residents.
