National Older People’s Day Celebration in 2024
On May 12, 2024, at Bedugul Botanical Gardens in Tabanan, the National Older People’s Day celebration was held together with retired employees of the Dr. I G. N. G. Ngoerah General Hospital. This celebration was a form of tribute to the contributions made by retired seniors in developing the Dr. I G. N. G. Ngoerah General Hospital into a quality healthcare service for the community.
In Indonesia, Older People’s Day is commemorated on May 29th to honor, recognize, and appreciate the valuable contributions and experiences of seniors in building society and the nation. This celebration also aims to raise awareness of the importance of protecting the welfare and quality of life of older people, as well as promoting social inclusion and respect for the rights of seniors.

The celebration was filled with various activities, including exercise performances by the older people, group singing, various games, a tumpeng cutting ceremony, and a communal meal. During these activities, the Sahaja Foundation team hosted fun games for the participants. The games played included various types of group ball games such as relay ball transfer and shooting balls into baskets. The older people participants appeared delighted and enthusiastic, engaging in the games with remarkable energy. Their laughter echoed throughout the event, creating unforgettable memories for all attendees. Their energy was contagious to all observers, reminding us that spirit and happiness know no age.
