Sahaja Kelana: Free Health Services for Older People in Cemagi Village
On Saturday, July 26, 2025, the Sahaja Foundation, in collaboration with the Cemagi Village Government, held a community outreach program called “Sahaja Kelana”, providing free health services for older people in Cemagi Village. This event was part of the series of activities celebrating the anniversary of Cemagi Village, which falls on July 27, 2025.
The event began with welcoming remarks from the Head of Cemagi Village and Chairman of Sahaja Foundation Bali, Dr. Suka Aryana. In his speech, he expressed appreciation for the strong collaboration between the foundation, healthcare professionals, and the local community in improving the well-being of older adults in the area.
Following the opening, the event continued with a group exercise session led by the Rehabilitation Medicine Team from Prof. Dr. I.G.N.G. Ngoerah General Hospital. Participants enthusiastically joined in brain and physical exercises designed to promote mobility, balance, and cognitive function among older adults.
After the exercise, the program proceeded with free medical check-ups, which included blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol measurements, as well as general health consultations. The health services were supported by various partners, including the Rehabilitation Medicine Team of Prof. Dr. I.G.N.G. Ngoerah Hospital, students from the Institute of Technology and Health (ITEKES) Bali, the Prana Healing Team, and internal medicine specialists from Prof. Dr. I.G.N.G. Ngoerah Hospital, who also provided education and direct consultations to participants.
In addition to on-site activities, the Sahaja Kelana team conducted home visits for ten selected older adults who have limited mobility. During these visits, they received free medical examinations from geriatric internal medicine specialists, as well as care packages containing basic food supplies and walking canes to support their daily needs.
Through this initiative, the Sahaja Foundation aims to raise awareness about the importance of maintaining health and well-being in later life, while also strengthening social connections between residents, local authorities, and organizations dedicated to supporting older adults. With the spirit of compassion and collaboration, Sahaja Kelana stands as a meaningful example of cross-sector partnership in promoting a healthier, more independent, and happier life for older people.
