Sahaja Gempita Vol. 3: Health Talk on “Hypertension in Older People”

Sahaja Gempita Vol. 3 was once again successfully held on Sunday, 18 May 2025, at Graha Prodia, Renon. This event was a collaborative effort between the Sahaja Bali Foundation and Prodia Health Care, as part of a shared commitment to improving the health and happiness of older people.

A total of 47 older participants attended and actively took part in the event. From the early morning, participants showed great enthusiasm as they engaged in the well-prepared series of activities. Following registration, participants first underwent blood pressure checks as an initial screening before entering the main session.

The event opened with a lively group exercise session for older people, guided with enthusiasm and accompanied by cheerful music to set a warm and energetic atmosphere. The excitement continued into the main session—a health talk on the theme “Hypertension in Older Adults.” This session was delivered by an expert speaker, Prof. Dr. dr. Ketut Suwitra, Sp.PD-KGH, FINASIM.

During the session, Prof. Suwitra explained clearly and engagingly the importance of recognizing and managing hypertension in later life. He also demonstrated the correct way to measure blood pressure, helping older people and their companions understand how to monitor it properly at home.

After receiving valuable health education, the activities continued with fun games, group dancing, karaoke, and were concluded with a shared lunch. The warm and joyful atmosphere was felt throughout the event, highlighting that this activity not only provided health benefits but also strengthened the social and emotional well-being of the participants.

With the spirit of “Joyful, Happy, and Laughing,” Sahaja Gempita Vol. 3 served as a fun and meaningful platform for older people to stay active, healthy, and happy. Thank you to all who contributed, especially Prodia as our activity partner, and to all the spirited older participants who joined us!
